Author to present Tibetan Buddhist views on death
Author and Carlson College professor Roger Jackson will discuss Tibetan Buddhist ideas about death in a special Theosophical presentation 7 pm Monday, Feb. 12 at Church of Saint Francis, 3201 Pleasant Ave., Minneapolis. He is the John W. Nason professor of Asian Studies and Religion at Carlson College in Minnesota. He teaches the religions of South Asia and Tibet. Prof. Jackson has published many aritcles on the philosophy, ritual, meditative practices, and poetery ofIndian and Tibetan Buddhist and has written or co-edited seveal books. His book credits include Is Enlightenment Possible?, Tibetan Literature, Buddhist Theosophy, Tantric Treasures, and The Bka'brgvud Tradition. He is past editor of Journal of the International Association of Buddhist Studies and current co-editor of Indian International Journal of Buddhist Studies. Book sale, autograph session.
